But the girl that asked about the margarita machine filled in for her.

“Oh, we do this every single weekend,” she offered. “Colly’s a gracious host. I only wish that she would allow us to stay the night. It would be nice to get drunk and stay inside instead of passed out on the beach.”

I bit my lip.

I didn’t know what to say to that.

It sounded like this was a regular occurrence, but at least she didn’t let them stay in her ‘place.’ There was that, right?

“I’d suggest you hurry,” I said to Colly. “And when I say hurry, I mean you have like five minutes to quietly get everyone out of here. And if you ever think about doing this again, I would highly suggest that you don’t.”

Colly blinked.

Blinked again.

Then I lost it.

“Party is officially over, people!” I yelled at the group. “You have five minutes to get out of here before trespassing charges are pressed against you. And trust me, I’m not bluffing on the cop thing. I have two that I know personally that can get here in a very short amount of time.”

Nobody moved.

So I clapped really hard and loud.

So loud that my hands hurt.

“Leave!”

Colly jumped.

People grumbled.

I pulled my phone out and called my brother.

“I need your help,” I said on the first ring. “Follow my location on Life 360. Get here with your game face on. I need to boot a few people from Cassius’s property before he loses his ever-loving shit.”

Silvy grumbled, “What the fuck are you doing with him?”

I rolled my eyes. “Get here, Silvy. Please hurry.”

Then I hung up and walked to the radio that was still playing on the other side of the pool.

I unplugged it, then pointed at the drunk chick closest to the radio who hadn’t moved a muscle. “You. Leave.”

She scoffed. “I think not.”

“I think so.” I pointed at the trash. “And pick your trash up.”

She grumbled something under her breath, closed her eyes, and then sighed.

I picked up her discarded beer, then upended it over her head.

She leaped off the lounger with a shriek.

She came at me, fists flying, but I hadn’t grown up with Silvy as a brother and not learned a few tricks to protect myself.

I took a step to the side, swept my foot out, and tripped her.

She went down hard on the concrete, and I moved around her, heading to the next woman that didn’t bother to get up and move.

I swept the drink out of one hand, took the phone from her other hand, and said, “Go fetch.”

I tossed it down into the sand as far as I could get it to go.

She hissed out a ‘what the fuck’ and went to retrieve it.

I pointed at the man that I wouldn’t be touching because I knew my fucking limits, and pointed. “Please leave.”

He flicked his hand at me as if to say, ‘please try what you did to them on me.’

I didn’t. “My brother, who is a cop, is on his way. This is not Colly’s property. This is his.” I pointed toward where Cassius was watching from the tree line. “I highly, highly suggest you don’t do anything stupid. Please, just leave.”

He looked at Cassius, blanched, then said, “She told us this was her place.”

“It’s not,” I said stiffly.

He got up, gathered all of his trash, then walked it over to the trash can.

Before he left, he grabbed the drunk girl’s phone I’d thrown right out to the sand, then threw that away as well.

Hmm, a good one.

Imagine that.

I went around to everyone that had either ignored me, hadn’t heard me, or just chose to play dumb, and asked them all personally to leave.

Some did.

Others didn’t.

My brother came onto the property with his lights on in his cruiser, then started handing out drunk and disorderly tickets, as well as trespassing warnings, to everyone that was left.

Some saw what was going on and chose to leave.

Others were way past being drunk and didn’t realize what was happening.

In the end, everyone but Colly left.

Who was asked to stay by Silvy.

“Tell me what’s going on and why you’re here,” my brother asked.

She flicked her annoyed gaze at him, then at me, and sneered, “I don’t have to tell you anything.”

Cassius chose to come in then, walking right up to her and pointing at her chest but not touching her.

“You’ve been here every single weekend for the past six months, I’ve checked. You’ve used my electricity, my mother’s home, and our things, all without permission. You’ve trashed my shit, though thankfully cleaned it up, and have totally lied to me about what’s been going on out here for who knows how long. I don’t know if you realize this or not, but I would’ve been the one liable if something were to have happened out here, and that’s not okay. I want you to never, ever come back here. You’re fired,” he said stiffly.
