“We’re not about to fuck,” Emory said softly as he leaned in to kiss Julien. “We’re about to make love. I’ve never done that before.”

Julien moaned and deepened the kiss, sliding his hand around the side of Emory’s neck. When he pulled back, the heat in his eyes scorched Emory. “Then we’ll have this first together because I have never done that either.”

Emory grinned.

“That’s the look,” Julien groaned.

“What look?”

“You have one hell of a wicked cast to that grin. It attracted me instantly, and I’m powerless against it.”

“Oh yeah? Think I could make you agree to anything with this grin?”

“Yes,” he said simply, gaze suddenly earnest.

Emory’s grin widened before he kissed Julien again. Their tongues slid sensuously against each other as he ran his hands down Julien’s chest, loving the crinkly hair under his palms. He didn’t stop, brushing his fingers over Julien’s belly, then wrapping the fingers of his right hand around Julien’s cock.

Julien gasped into his mouth and thrust his hips up.

Emory stroked him slowly, drawing out the pleasure while Julien’s hands moved to his back, under his wings. He slowly rubbed, ruffling feathers with the backs of his fingers. When his hands went lower to grasp Emory’s ass, Emory shuddered, sliding his tongue deep into Julien’s mouth.

“I want you inside me,” Emory said against his lips. “Just like this.”

“Yes,” Julien hissed as he let go and reached for the lube.

Emory came up on his knees to give Julien better access and Julien watched him the whole time as he worked him open. His man, so new to gay sex, had learned a lot in such a short time, working up to three fingers slowly. Deliberately.

“This is so hot.” Julien panted the words before groaning. “I can’t wait to slide inside here. And you look so gorgeous with your wings out like this. It’s almost too beautiful to be real.”

“It’s very real.” Emory lifted higher to let Julien’s fingers pull out of him, then scooted forward as Julien positioned his cock at his hole. Emory’s lips parted as he took Julien inside him, sliding all the way down slowly. He stayed still, getting used to the feeling of being full, his breaths starting to come faster.

Julien’s head tilted back, his eyes closing.

Fuck, he was gorgeous like this. Open and lost to pleasure. Emory stared avidly as he began to move. Julien’s hands gripped his hips, his eyes opening, pupils still blown out. He thrust up into Emory as they found a mutual rhythm.

“Fuck, Emory,” Julien panted as he tightened his fingers. “So fucking hot!”

It was hotter than anything Emory had ever experienced, but it was more than merely hot. He could actually feel the bond forming between them. The soulmate bond. It was like a flood of warmth in his chest, the feelings overwhelming. They swelled until his entire body was awash with the overflowing surge of emotions. He started moving faster, the pleasure only adding to this deluge of passion and affection.

His wings fluttered and spread out.

Julien gasped, staring up at Emory in complete wonder. “So fucking beautiful. I love you so goddamn much!”

Every muscle seized in Emory’s body as unbelievable pleasure soared through him. It was like flying again. He shot all over Julien’s chest, crying out with pure ecstasy, his head thrown back as shudders wracked his body.

“Fuck!” Julien sputtered as he speared into Emory’s body with his last deep thrusts. He lurched up, wrapped both arms around Emory, and held him tight as he shuddered out his own pleasure, his face buried against Emory’s chest.

Emory just lowered his head until his cheek brushed Julien’s soft hair. He held onto him tightly, breathing hard, completely stunned over the absolute peace he felt. He’d been so wrong about not wanting a soulmate because nothing could ever compare to the feeling of oneness. This utter joy. He’d completely given himself to Julien and he couldn’t be more euphoric.

“I love you, too,” he whispered.

Chapter Twenty

Julien

Xavier showed up to the safe house the next morning, bringing Alaric and someone else Julien hadn’t met. When he was introduced to Bain, he took in the snake-like slits in his eyes and guessed that he was some kind of snake shifter. Bain reminded Julien a little of Emory only in that they were both extraordinarily beautiful, but outside of that, they were nothing alike. Bain was more…flashy in his purple leather pants and slinky colorful shirt. He also carried more of a feminine look to his features. The strength of the magic coming off both Bain and Alaric told Julien they were both powerful individuals.

Still nothing like the power coming off the sorcerer.

“Have you discovered any more information?” Xavier asked Julien after he took a seat in the living room.

Bain, Alaric, and Emory stayed standing near the door.

“No,” Julien answered as he took one of the chairs. “I’ve had a lot going on, but I have access to everything here, so I’m about to dig in harder.”
